The mission of 40 Plus of Greater Washington is to help aging and experienced professionals in the DC Metropolitan area know and effectively communicate their value with confidence in securing a new position or changing careers.
How might we redesign the 40 Plus website to better highlight the services that they offer?
Research & Ideation
Current Site
The current 40 Plus Homepage was in need of a redesign. From the second my group and I saw this homepage, we noted the various amounts of fonts and colors, as well the confusing navigation. As this website will be mostly accessed by those over the age of 40, we wanted to simplify this website to make it as easy to navigate as possible.

Survey
Next, my teammate, Qaddafi, created a survey for potential users to take. As a result of the survey, we knew we needed to make several big changes, such as making the mission more clear on the website, drawing more attention to being able to post for and search for jobs within the website, and the creation of a discussion forum.
Interviews
After surveying and interviewing multiple working professionals over the age of 40, we were able to create an empathy map for our user based on our findings.
Five interviews were conducted with potential users and stakeholders.
